Early Stimulation

Early stimulation is essential to help children reach the development milestones, as well as establish the bases so that they can develop advanced motor and cognitive skills. It is also fundamental to promote the development of the intelligence. A set of techniques that favour their cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.

It is a group of activities that are used to improve certain characteristics of the students when they are developing where they have greater neural plasticity. Among other things, they work on the senses, as well as the mental skills, such as the memory, attention and the development of the nervous system.

Multiple intelligences

Guided learning is just another methodology, although it is not the only one. The master classes are giving rise to new ways of dealing with the teaching-learning process. Opening the School up to our society, as our Mission states, means that we have to take into account the diversity; and the best way to respond to the diversity is to respect our students' different styles of learning. There isn't just one way or path to attain the goal, each student has their own skills and abilities. Our objective is to promote and work on each of them to obtain the proposed objectives.

Soft skills

We have defined ten competences that a student must acquire at the end of their time spent at our school.

The competences of the SSCC students are intended to develop the skills that are included in the official and extensive curriculums with distinctive SSCC style elements, such as the spiritual life, the intercultural dimension and the strong social commitment. So, when they finish their higher secondary education, our students will be ready to go into an academic, professional and social environment of the 21st century.

Project based learning

Through the active methodologies students play the main role in their learning, opting for team work and solving problems associated with the real world.

Project based learning is a teaching model in which the students work on the academic content in a competence-based way, through the design, development and evaluation of a project related to the world that surrounds them. Therefore, the students embark on interdisciplinary projects that are much more than short and one-off lessons.

The students acquire an active role, which favours their motivation and interest to attain an objective or an end product. It therefore promotes individual and independent learning in a defined plan with their own objectives and procedures.

Progentis

The speed and the understanding of the readers are the variables that enable them to develop effective reading skills. With the Progrentis method, the 5th year Primary students and older students improve this effective reading.

It is an online digital tool that trains the eye and brain by playing, and the objective of this is to increase the speed and comprehension in reading.

The objective of the BEDA programme, Bilingual English Development & Assessment, is to implement and optimize the efficiency of teaching languages at school.

It is based on three main areas:

  • Qualitative and quantitative increase of the subjects taught in English.
  • Specific teacher training.
  • External evaluation by Cambridge ESOL Examinations from Cambridge University.

It consists in gradually incorporating the bilingual Spanish-English education as an Educational Project that reinforces and elaborates on certain aspects of the language educational life of the School, the syllabus and the school environment.
